Sag Harbor, NY - June 1, 2018 - Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that Jane Lynch will be the emcee for Some Enchanted Evening, the 27th Annual Summer Gala in Sag Harbor on the Long Wharf on July 7, 2018. The event benefits Bay Street's educational and theatrical programs. The evening includes special performances as well as a silent auction, cocktail party, live auction with celebrity auctioneer Richard Kind, dinner and dancing. At the Gala, Bay Street will honor the businesses in Sag Harbor for their 27 years of support for this event and for the theater, as well as Bay Street Board members Luigi Caiola and Erik Batt.
“This year’s theme is a celebration of the Golden Age of Broadway,” says Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater’s Artistic Director. “It’s the perfect theme to make this gala extra special since it will be the last party on the Long Wharf. We will have a new location next year, but we still have this year to celebrate with a music-filled sunset party that supports Bay Street Theater.”
The evening’s show will be written by the hilarious, award-winning playwright Jonathan Tolins (playwright of Buyer and Cellar and Bay Street’s hit comedy The Forgotten Woman) and will feature a star-filled concert with songs from some of the most beloved musicals of all time including South Pacific, West Side Story, On The Town, Carousel, and more.
Jane Lynch is the two-time Emmy winning host of Hollywood Game Night and an Emmy and Golden Globe winner for her portrayal of Sue Sylvester on Glee. She will be seen this fall portraying Janet Reno in Manifesto. Additional television credits include Criminal Minds, The Good Fight, Portlandia, Angel From Hell, Party Down, Lovespring International, Two and a Half Men, and The L Word. Lynch’s film credits include Mascots, both Wreck It Ralph I and II, Afternoon Delight, The Three Stooges, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Talladega Nights, Julie & Julia, A Mighty Wind, Best In Show, and For Your Consideration.
She made her Broadway debut in the 2013 production of Annie, and soon thereafter embarked on her own live concert tour, See Jane Sing, with Kate Flannery and Tim Davis. Their holiday album, A Swingin' Little Christmas, is available from iTunes, Amazon and other outlets.
Her memoir Happy Accidents topped several national best-sellers lists, including The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times.
Richard Kind (Amazon’s Red Oaks, The Producers, The Big Knife, Mad About You, Spin City, A Bug’s Life, Cars, Inside Out, and Bay Street’s productions including Enter Laughing, Romance, Travesties, and The Lady in Question) will be the Celebrity Auctioneer and will also perform a classic Broadway tune.
