The Public information Office reports the details of a Water Emergency that occurred on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:31 p.m. in Point Lookout.
 
According to police, a 911 call was received for a 25’ vessel that had run aground in Sea Dog Creek, in the vicinity of Reynolds Channel. Upon arrival, Nassau County Marine Bureau encountered a male and his dog who were stuck in the marsh and in distress, due to high wind conditions and decreasing temperature.
 
Officers rescued the boater and his canine, Lola, before freeing his boat from the marsh and
towing it to a nearby marina.
 
There were no injuries reported from the boat operator or his dog.
