Two Brooklyn Men Arrested After Bold Macy's Robbery in Garden City

Two Brooklyn men were arrested after attempting to steal merchandise from a Macy's in Garden City, with one suspect apprehended after a struggle and the other caught shortly after fleeing the scene.

The Public Information Office reports the arrest of two Brooklyn men for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 5:42 PM in Garden City.
 
According to officers, police responded to Macys located at 630 Old Country Road, for a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, officers were informed by a male employee that Horace Glenn, 33, and Shamari Mcdonald, 22, both of 525 Wyona Street, selected merchandise from the store shelves and attempted to pass all points of purchase without rendering payment. When the male employee approached Glenn, he refused to cooperate and physically resisted. At this time, Mcdonald fled the store on foot. After a brief struggle, the male employee was able to secure defendant Glenn and a short while later, officers located defendant Mcdonald,
placing him into custody without further incident. All merchandise was recovered and no injuries were reported.
 
Defendant Shamari Mcdonald is charged with Petit Larceny and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Defendant Horace Glenn is charged with Robbery 3 rd Degree, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of an Anti-Security Item. He will be arraigned on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
