Girl Scout Day Comes to Long Island Game Farm

Who: Diane and Melinda Novak, Co-Owners, Long Island Game Farm Wildlife Park & Children's Zoo, Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, Long Island Game Farm staff members, alligators, buffalo, sheep, rabbits, ducks, goats, giraffes, lemurs, gibbons, Turaco birds and other animals What: The Long Island Game Farm will host the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County at Girl Scout Day. Visitors can learn more about the Girl Scouts, and sponsorship opportunities for Operation:Cookie, which sends Girl Scout cookies to troops serving Iraq and Afghanistan, and to those recuperating at Walter Reed Medical Center and the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Children will have the opportunity to make arts and crafts with the Girl Scouts. T-shirts will be on sale, with proceeds going to benefit Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. The Girl Scouts will also explore the Game Farm as they visit different exotic animals, enjoy the variety of shows and go on the fun, exciting rides. When: Saturday, June 11 from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Where: Long Island Game Farm, Chapman Boulevard, Manorville, NY Photo Ops: Girl Scouts doing activities and making crafts. Melinda and Diane Novak with the Girl Scouts and some of the friendly animals. Directions: Long Island Expressway to Exit 70 South (CR 111) to Manorville. Go south on CR 111 for half a mile. Make a right on Chapman Blvd. Go 1.5 miles. Game Farm is on the left. ### The Long Island Game Farm was founded in 1970 by Stanley and Diane Novak and is located on 25 acres of land in Manorville. The Park has grown over the years and has served as a frequent destination of school children that have grown up on Long Island. Each year, thousands of guests visit the park.
