Man Arrested for DWI with his 4-Year-Old in the Car

Police today arrested a North Bellport man for Leandra’s Law for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash with his four-year-old daughter in the vehicle.

Suffolk County Police today arrested a North Bellport man for Leandra’s Law for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash with his four-year-old daughter in the vehicle.
 
Arturo Loboss was driving a 2020 Honda CRV on Station Road, when his vehicle struck a 2004 Mercury being driven by Jacalyn Pedraza at approximately 2:25 p.m. When police arrived, they determined Loboss exhibited signs of intoxication.
 
Fifth Precinct officers attempted to arrest Loboss, but he resisted. Loboss was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue with non-life-threatening injuries. His child did not require medical attention and was released to a family member at the scene. Pedraza, 37, of Bellport was not injured.
 
The Honda was impounded.
 
Loboss, 35, was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated, Acting in a Manner Injurious to a Child, and Resisting Arrest.
 
Loboss will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
