Tragic Hit-and-Run in Patchogue: Motorcyclist Killed, Police Seek Dark Sedan

Suffolk County Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Patchogue that killed 22-year-old motorcyclist Christopher Hlavaty, urging anyone with information to contact authorities.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist in Patchogue last night.
 
Christopher Hlavaty was operating 2008 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Rider Avenue, turning left onto Main Street, when he was struck by car traveling westbound on Main Street at approximately 10:45 p.m. The vehicle, described as an older, dark colored sedan, fled southbound on Rider Avenue.
 
Hlavaty, 22, of East Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
