Does your child dream of being on Broadway or simply love the performing arts? Well, so do kids who travel far and wide to attend A Class At NY's award-winning Broadway camp programs each summer.
"We had kids who came from all over the globe last summer. Campers came from Europe, South America, Canada and all over the U.S. to attend our camp."
Jessica Rofe, Artistic Director says, "I love that campers are exposed to kids from different backgrounds. I know that they will cherish these memories forever."
Lucky campers work with Broadway actors all week long in workshops that range from intro to Shakespeare, stage combat, make-up, Broadway dance, vocal training and on-camera acting.
While not in a workshop, campers rehearse for a Musical Revue with Broadway veteran, Judine Somerville that they will perform for family and friends at the state-of-the-art theatre at the JCC on the fifth and final day of the program.
Rofe continues, "I'm always amazed at how much these kids absorb in just five days. It's a challenge and they love it."
If this weren't enough, campers are bused into Manhattan on Wednesday to see a Broadway matinee and have a talk back with actors after the show.
"Campers learn what it means to be a professional actor and the dedication, focus and determination it takes. These are great life lessons and will be beneficial in whatever they choose to pursue in the future," says Rofe.
