Merrick’s Midnight Marauders: Trio of Juveniles Nabbed in Bicycle Shop Break-In

The First Squad reports the arrest of three male juveniles for an Attempted Burglary that occurred on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 10:35 p.m. in Merrick.
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to Merrick Bicycles, located at 1829 Merrick Avenue, for a Burglary in progress. Officers located and arrested three male juveniles: 13, 14, and 17 years old, at the scene without incident. Subsequent to the investigation, Detectives determined that the 13 and 17-year-old juveniles were responsible for two additional Burglaries, which occurred at the same business on Friday, May 24, 2024 and Saturday, June 8, 2024.
 
The 13-year-old male juvenile is charged with two counts of Burglary 3 rd Degree, Attempted Burglary 3 rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4 th Degree, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4 th Degree. He was issued an appearance ticket and released.
 
The 14-year-old male juvenile is charged with Attempted Burglary 3 rd Degree.He was issued an appearance ticket and released.
 
The 17-year-old male juvenile is charged with two counts of Burglary 3 rd Degree, Attempted Burglary 3 rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4 th Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4 th Degree, Petit Larceny, Possession of Burglar Tools, and Criminal Mischief 3 rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, June 17, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
