The highly anticipated "Best School Districts in New York" report has been released, and the results are in. Topping the list is the prestigious Great Neck Public Schools, securing the coveted number one spot. The report, compiled by Niche, a leading educational data analysis platform, evaluated various criteria to determine the rankings.
 
Impressively, Great Neck Public Schools achieved an overall grade of A+, excelling in academics, teachers, college prep, and administration. Following closely behind in second place is the Jericho Union Free School District, also earning high marks in these categories. The Syosset Central School District secured the third spot, with the Roslyn Union Free School District and the Hewlett-Woodmere Union Free School District rounding out the top five at fourth and sixth place, respectively.
 
The report not only assessed academic excellence but also evaluated the diversity of each district. Half Hollow Hills Central School District, known for its inclusivity, received an A- in this category. Great Neck and Hewlett-Woodmere were awarded a B+ for their commitment to diversity. The Jericho, Syosset, Roslyn, Herricks, and East Williston districts all received a solid B grade, while Manhasset attained a B-.
 
The districts' achievements extended beyond academics and diversity, with many also receiving recognition for their athletic programs. Great Neck, Syosset, and Manhasset were lauded with an A grade for their outstanding sports programs. Jericho, Hewlett-Woodmere, and Half Hollow Hills received an A-, while Roslyn achieved a respectable B grade. East Williston was awarded a B-, and Herricks received a C- in this category.
 
In terms of providing quality meals, the Hewlett-Woodmere and Jericho school districts emerged as the leaders, both earning an impressive A+ in the food category. East Williston, Manhasset, Half Hollow Hills, Herricks, and Roslyn received an A grade for their cafeteria offerings, while Syosset and Great Neck garnered a solid B rating.
 
Additionally, students in each district benefit from lower student-teacher ratios compared to the national average of 17:1. East Williston reported an exceptional 9:1 ratio, with Hewlett-Woodmere close behind at 10:1. Half Hollow Hills, Syosset, and Great Neck maintained an 11:1 ratio, while Jericho and Herricks had a 12:1 student-teacher ratio. Manhasset and Roslyn reported a 13:1 ratio.
