Legislator Lindsay Presents The Character of Excellence Award to Students in the Eighth Legislative District
Holbrook, NY - June 27, 2018 - Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay III presented fifteen of Suffolk County’s most outstanding students with the Character of Excellence Award this past week. The award is an acknowledgement of elementary school students who display exemplary characteristics and demonstrate the ability to grow into strong and resourceful adults. The award started with Legislator Lindsay’s father as the Presiding Officer’s Character of Excellence Award and has continued as the Suffolk County Legislator’s Character of Excellence Award.
This year Legislator Lindsay presented awards to the following fifth graders within his district:

- Alexa Garriti of Merrimac Elementary School
- Nate Traina of Sunrise Drive Elementary School
- Alexandra Sullivan of Academy Street Elementary School
- Ryan Medina of Hiawatha Elementary School
- Emma Marazita of Sylvan Avenue Elementary School
- Elizabeth McCabe of Lincoln Avenue Elementary School
- Julia Deal of Lincoln Avenue Elementary School
- Kyle Finnegan of Waverly Avenue Elementary School
- Katerina Michaelides of Cherry Avenue Elementary School
- Luke Plana of John Pearl Elementary School
- Ella Ciolfi of Idle Hour Elementary School
- Lilliana Kubacki of Grundy Avenue Elementary School
“The Character of Excellence Award is a prestigious honor given to fifth grade students in my district that display strong character, the utmost integrity, and accountability for their actions,” said Legislator Lindsay. “This is a tradition that my father started and I am glad to continue this honor of acknowledging students who set the bar high for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
