Nassau Coliseum Fair at the Nassau Coliseum
The Nassau Coliseum Fair welcomes Dondi, the gigantic, gentle performing elephant that stands 8 feet tall and weighs 7,000 pounds. Dondi has over one hundred behaviors which are triggered by verbal commands. Through an educational and entertaining show, Dondi shows-off her intelligence and children learn about the plight of Asian elephants. She can cluck like a chicken, roar like a lion, play with a hula hoop and pick out specific things from a line-up. The owners rescued Dondi from Thailand when she was 9 months old; she is now 22 years old.
The Nassau Coliseum Fair includes more than 25 free crowd-pleasing shows each day. Circus Hollywood returns with high-flying aerial performers, Miss Stevana's performing poodles and more. Thrill America will also be part of the big top performances and will feature Giant Gyro Wheel performances by The Fearless Vincente and the daring Motorcycle Globe of Death riders. Additional free attractions include the Hollywood Pig Racers and Animal Park Adventure Menagerie with exotic animals including a variety of monkeys, a kangaroo, Scottish bulls, African zebus, South American llamas and several other creatures from the four corners of the globe.
