Weather Alert

AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT EDT THURSDAY NIGHT The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from midnight tonight to midnight EDT Thursday night. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Fine Particulates. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. The toll free number is 1 800 5 3 5, 1 3 4 5.

LI Second Amendment Preservation Assocication announces the launch of the LI Second Amendment Preservation Association website.

Friday, July 8th, 2011.

For Immediate Release.

Ronkonkoma, NY- Long Island Firearms, New York's foremost online firearms enthusiast community, announced today the launch of the official website of the LI Second Amendment Preservation Association (LISAPA). On it, interested readers can find up to date and relevant information on all things important to the firearms community on Long Island. "LISAPA is a natural progression of the grass roots activism that was started in the Long Island Firearms forum", said Steven Blair, LISAPA's president. He added, "LIF attracted not only firearms enthusiasts, but a number of veterans in the struggle for Second Amendment Rights in New York State, and in addition to them, we have several industry professionals among our ranks." He continued, "LISAPA will give leadership and direction to that diverse expertise; the inevitable result is a more cohesive, organized and directed entity that will spearhead local efforts to regain, and then retain, our Second Amendment Rights." Blair went on to describe the site's content as being "locally focused, but universally relevant" with concentrations on Community Service, New Products, Training, Competition and Political Action, with particular attention paid to how those aspects pertain to Women and Youth. "There will be something for everyone, and it will mesh very well with the perennial focus of LIF: to enhance the image of law abiding gun owners and shooting sports enthusiasts through the responsible exercise of our rights and community service."
