Gas Station Dispute Turns Violent: Hicksville Man Arrested for Knife Assault in Franklin Square

Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Hicksville man for an Assault that occurred on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 1:55 pm in Franklin Square.
 
According to detectives, the owner of OK Gas Station located at 66 New Hyde Park Road, had a verbal dispute with an employee of a neighboring business regarding parking vehicles on his property. The argument escalated and the business owner, Daljit Singh, 58, of 200 Brittle Lane, struck the male victim, 64, with a small knife on the left side of his neck and arm. Singh was arrested without incident.
 
The victim suffered two (2) small lacerations and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
 
Defendant Singh is charged with Assault 1 st Degree (Attempted), Assault 2 nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4 th Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
