Summer is the time to be outside, enjoying the beautiful weather we get here on Long Island. Of course, everyone likes to get out and see a good summer movie from time to time. But why spend your summer in a crowded theater when you can enjoy a movie outside?
There are a lot of places on Long Island where you can see a great outdoor movie - you just have to know where to look. Many of these movies raise money for charity and are sponsored by local Chambers of Commerce. A few of them even serve free popcorn!
Most of these movies begin at dusk. It may be a good idea to bring a few lawn chairs and snacks. While most of these showings are family-friendly and only rated PG or G, be sure to check out their websites for all details.
Of course, all of these outdoor movies showing depend on the weather! Rain dates are provided on their websites.
