MacArthur Airport is getting ready for some major upgrades including a new airplane parking ramp, 24 vestibule doors, baggage claim terminal, and a completely new, two-story concourse of 100,000 square feet. These upgrades will be completed in three separate stages. Additionally, the airport will be installing new bag belts, baggage tracking mechanisms, additional security for bag carousels.

 

 

The airport has received grants totalling at $1.5 million from the FAA. The goal of these renovations is to give visitors a better overall experience at the airport and even attract new airlines to MacArthur. Officials report  that construction will begin next year and should be completed by the year 2020
