Brentwood Man Charged with Heinous Animal Abuse: Emaciated Pitbull Found Abandoned in Vacant Building

On Saturday, July 21, 2024 after an extensive investigation, Suffolk County SPCA detectives charged 23 year old Dante Meade, Brentwood, NY with animal abuse and abandonment. Meade was located and charged in Manhattan.

 

Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA said that on or about February 5, 2024, Henny, a grey male Stafford Shire American Pitbull, had been abandoned at a vacant building. Henny was emaciated with a poor body condition where the bones of the spine, ribs and pelvis were protruding. Henry had been transported to a local animal shelter.

 

Meade is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on August 9, 2024.
