Chaos in West Babylon: SUV Crashes Into Home, Injuring Three in Early Morning Accident

An SUV crashed into a West Babylon home early this morning, injuring three people and causing significant structural damage.

Suffolk County Police First Precinct officers responded to Great East Neck Road in West Babylon after a motor vehicle crashed into a house injuring three people early this morning.
 
Cristian Banega-Salmendares was driving a 2023 Dodge SUV southbound on Great East Neck Road, south of Crocus Court, when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway, struck a low concrete wall, flipped into the air, and crashed into the residence located at 128 Great East Neck Road at approximately 12:30 a.m.
 
Banega-Salmendares, 27, of West Babylon, along with Anna Baptiste, 46, and Michel Baptiste, 45, a married couple living in the residence, were transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The Babylon Town Fire Marshall and Building Inspector were called to the scene to assess damage to the structure.
