Dr. Lyle Leipziger has been named a top plastic surgeon in New York Magazine's latest guide to the "Best Doctors in New York." This is the tenth consecutive year Dr. Leipziger has received such recognition. He is Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center and has an office on Northern Boulevard in Great Neck. Physicians named in the Best Doctors guide are selected based on a survey of their peers and hospital executives, according to New York magazine.
"I'm honored to be among the select group of physicians named in this survey," said Dr. Leipziger, one of only four plastic surgeons from all of Long Island to be included in the Top Doctors guide.
Dr. Leipziger was also recently called on by Fox News for a video report on plastic surgery after extreme weight loss. He discussed "body lift" surgery, which targets excess skin that often remains after people lose 100 pounds or more. The procedure entails a number of procedures that lift and contour the body, and one of Dr. Leipziger's patients, who lost 185 pounds, was featured in the report. Dr. Leipziger, who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery of the face, breast and body.
