Sayville SummerFest 2014: Celebrating 34 Years of Bringing the Community Together
Taking place on Main Street, South Main Street, Gillette Avenue, Candee Avenue, Railroad Avenue, Rotary Park, and Gillette Park, the Sayville SummerFest took over the downtown Sayville area with tons of fun, food, vendors, entertainment, and activities for kids. The all weekend event hosted by The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce was a huge hit despite the rainy weather early on Saturday, August 2nd.
Sayville 2014 SummerFest kicked off the fun Friday night, August 1st, with colorful carnival rides and a live performance by The Originators, playing rock and roll and oldies tunes. Saturday morning may have started out gray and rainy but that didn’t keep people away from the festivities. Rows and rows of vendors lined the streets of Sayville selling unique gifts, tasty treats, and crafts for kids. Special performances from Sayville Dance Theatre, Dragons Gate Martial Arts, and many others were taking place on the various stages around the festival. Sunday’s entertainment included a classic car show and many musical performances by local artists.
Situated adjacent from the Gillette House, LongIsland.com was right there greeting the passers-by and handing out cool rewards to those who stopped by the booth to give our prize wheel a spin.
