Man arrested for DWI crash in Lindenhurst with his 2-year-old son in the car, facing Leandra's Law charges.

Suffolk County Police today arrested a man for Leandra’s Law for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash in Lindenhurst with his two-year-old son in the vehicle.
 
Adam Mularczuk was driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee with his two-year-old son in the vehicle, when he crashed the Jeep into an unoccupied 2022 Chevrolet Traverse that was parked in front of 591 Grand Ave., at approximately 8:40 p.m. When police arrived, they determined Mularczuk exhibited signs of intoxication.
 
A family member responded to the scene, and both the family member and child were transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where the child was treated for minor injuries and released.
 
The Jeep was impounded.
 
Mularczuk, 46, of 249 N. Niagara Ave., Lindenhurst, was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
 
Mularczuk will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 5.
