On the afternoon of Sunday, August 6th, a tragic incident unfolded in Hicksville shortly before 1 p.m.
A 20-year-old male, behind the wheel of a 2019 Toyota 4Runner, was heading eastbound along Princess Street. In an attempt to execute a right-hand turn onto North Broadway, a collision occurred between the 4Runner and an adult male cyclist.
Tragically, the bicyclist sustained fatal injuries and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where a medical professional pronounced his unfortunate passing. As of now, the identity of the victim has not been publicly disclosed.
The driver of the 4Runner, involved in the collision, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
