Elderly Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle: Homicide Squad Investigates Serious Accident in Lakeview

The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred at 9:17pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in Lakeview.

According to Detectives, the female victim, 73, was walking westbound crossing Woodfield Road at Oakford Street when she was struck by a blue colored 2003 Toyota Highlander that was traveling southbound.

The operator of the Toyota, a male, 82, did remain on scene and contacted Police. The female victim suffered serious injuries and was transported by a Nassau County Ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment of her injuries; she is listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
