Learn how to save lives with Narcan at a free Narcan training class presented by the Town of Hempstead EMS staff. Attendees will learn how to identify an overdose victim, administer the Narcan Kit, and contact emergency officials. Trainees will also obtain a Narcan certification and a Narcan Kit.
Narcan is a medication used to reverse opioid overdose. It’s a nasal spray that can be administered by anyone, even if they have no medical training. Narcan works by blocking the effects of opioids on the brain, which can quickly restore breathing and consciousness in someone who is overdosing.
