A 17-year-old male was arrested in Lakeview after a high-speed chase led to the discovery of a loaded .380 Ruger handgun in his vehicle

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a male juvenile for Criminal Possession of a Weapon for an incident that occurred on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:10 pm in Lakeview.
 
According to Detectives, Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT) Officers while on routine patrol observed a black 2008 Nissan Altima traveling northbound on Woodfield Road at a high rate of speed. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. After a police investigation was conducted a loaded .380 Ruger handgun was recovered from inside the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, a male
juvenile, 17, was placed under arrest without further incident.
 
The Juvenile is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2 nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and multiple VTL violations. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at First District
Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
