10-Year-Old Girl Injured in Bicycle Accident with School Bus in Roosevelt; Mother Also Hurt While Assisting

A 10-year-old girl in Roosevelt was injured after losing her balance and hitting a school bus while riding her bicycle, and her mother also sustained a hand injury while trying to help her.

The Public Information Office reports the details of a Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 3:50 pm in Roosevelt.
 
According to Police, a 10-year-old female juvenile was riding her bicycle when she lost her balance and struck the side of a 2015 mini school bus traveling eastbound on W. Greenwich Street being operated by a 44-year- old female. The juvenile sustained severe abrasions to both of her legs. The juvenile’s mother, 40, in an attempt to render aid, did suffer an injury to her right hand. Both the juvenile and mother were transported to a local area
hospital for evaluation and treatment.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained at scene. No other injuries were reported.
