Arson Bomb Squad Investigates Early Morning Vehicle Fire in North Valley Stream—Suspect Still at Large

An unknown subject poured a flammable liquid substance on a vehicle that was parked in a driveway of a Franklin Avenue residence.

The Arson Bomb Squad is investigating a Vehicle Fire that occurred on Saturday, August 17, 2024 a.m. at 3:50 a.m. in North Valley Stream.
 
According to Detectives, an unknown subject poured a flammable liquid substance on a vehicle that was parked in a driveway of a Franklin Avenue residence. The subject then set the 2006 gray Ford Econonline E250 on fire before fleeing the scene on foot northbound on Franklin Avenue. The Valley Stream Fire Department responded and extinguish the flames.
 
There were no injuries were reported at scene and there was no substantial damage to the vehicle. There is no further description of the subject available at this time. The Nassau County Fire Marshall and Arson Bomb Squad at scene. The investigation is ongoing.
