13-Year-Old Arrested in Merrick Bicycles Burglary Spree: Juvenile Suspect Tied to Multiple Break-In Attempts

The First Squad reports the arrest of a male juvenile for an Attempted Burglary that occurred on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 2:41 AM in Merrick.
 
According to Detectives, a 13-year-old male juvenile attempted to burglarize Merrick Bicycles, located at 1827 Merrick Avenue but fled the scene before gaining entry. Officers located the defendant and after conducting an investigation, it was revealed that the same  subject was responsible for two other burglary incidents that had occurred at the same location on Friday, August 16, 2024 and Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
 
The defendant was placed under arrest without incident.
 
The defendant is charged with Burglary 3rd degree, two counts of Attempted Burglary 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree and Possession of Burglar Tools. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 to Nassau County Family Court.
