FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EDT MONDAY FOR WEST CENTRAL SUFFOLK COUNTY At 1127 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a driver and passenger in Brentwood early this morning.
 
Edin Quinones was driving a 2007 Honda Accord eastbound on Express Drive North, just east of Washington Avenue, when the vehicle veered to the right and struck two parked vehicles at 1:56 a.m.
 
Quinones, 20, of Mastic, and Xannel Avalo, 16, of Freeport, were transported with serious injuries to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore. Another passenger, Andrew Green, 14, was also transported to South Shore University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
