The Arson/Bomb Squad reports the details of a house fire that occurred on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at 6:30 a.m. in Farmingdale.
 
According to Detectives, Police, Farmingdale Fire Department, and multiple neighboring fire departments responded to Prospect Street for an active house fire.
 
All occupants of the house safely exited the house prior to first responder arrival. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries extinguishing the fire, one of them was transported to an area hospital for heat exhaustion, the other one was treated at scene.
 
Nassau County Fire Marshal Battaglia and Nassau County Arson/Bomb Squad were present at the scene. Red Cross is responding to assist the home’s residents. The fire is not considered suspicious and the investigation is ongoing.
