Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that seriously injured a man in North Amityville.
 
A 29-year-old man was standing outside a residence on Prospect Street when he was shot at approximately 3:30 p.m. The shooter was described as a male in a dark-colored 4-door sedan.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
