Tragic Collision Claims Motorcyclist's Life: Suffolk County Police Investigate Head-On Crash in Brentwood
Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Brentwood today.
Gabriel Reyes was operating a 2018 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Spur Drive North when his motorcycle crossed the double yellow line, approximately 300 feet west of Route 111, and struck an eastbound 2011 Ford Explorer head-on at approximately 11:40 a.m.
Reyes, 50, of Bay Shore, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford, Edwin Espinoza, 38, of East Rockaway, was not injured.
The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
