Third Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Westbury man for a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 3:55 pm in Westbury.
According to detectives, officers responded to the CVS located at 610 Old Country Road. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male subject placed store merchandise into a basket and exited the store passing all points of purchase, without rendering payment. A male employee, 37, had confronted the subject who threatened to stab him with a knife. The male victim then called 911.
Subsequent to the investigation, officers were able to locate Ruben Moya-Zapata, 36, of 24 Arlington Street and placed him under arrest without further incident.
No injuries were reported.
Defendant Moya-Zapata is charged with Robbery 1 st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4 th Degree and Petit Larceny.
He will be arraigned on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
