Suffolk County Police arrested two people for selling vape products and alcohol to an underage person in Mount Sinai yesterday.
In response to community complaints, Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an investigation into the sale of vape products and alcohol to underaged persons at local businesses during which two were found to be in violation of the law.
Tyler Conti, 25, of Mount Sinai, an employee of Island Vapor, located at 31 Route 25A, Mount Sinai, was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree for selling flavored vape products to an underage person.
Sarowar Hussain, 25, of Holtsville, an employee of Beer and Cigar, located at 39 Route 25A, Mount Sinai, was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree for selling alcohol to an underage person and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree for selling flavored vape products to an underage person.
Both subjects were issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
