The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of three (3) individuals for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 2:50 a.m. in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, Malverne officers observed a black Chevy Traverse SUV traveling northbound on Franklin Avenue with a defective tail lamp. Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop at 104 Franklin Avenue.
During the investigation, a loaded bright green 9mm handgun, a black revolver, black metal knuckles, 3 packets of Psilocybin mushrooms, a crow bar, wire cutters, a black and decker drill and a pair of walkie-talkies were recovered in the vehicle. Defendant Ronald Franklin, 43, of 1086 Gage Drive, Winder, Georgia, defendant Jasmiyn Gibson, 33, of 74 Ash Street, Conshohocken, Pennsylvania and defendant Kenneth Safford, 42 of 3510 Avenue, Brooklyn were arrested without further incident.
All three defendants are being charged with Possession of Burglar Tools, Unlawful Possession Radio Devices, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3 rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2 nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4 th Degree. Defendant Safford and defendant Franklin are additionally being charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3 rd Degree. They will be arraigned on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
