On September 7, NY Heroes Program will host a "Remembering 9/11" fundraiser to benefit the New York City Patrolmen's Benevolent Association Widows' and Children's Fund. The event will be held from 6-11 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings, 1112 Deer Park Avenue in Babylon.

The event raises awareness of the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks at the World Trade Center, in which approximately 3,000 people - including first responders and police officers - were killed. The money from the event goes to the PBA Widows' and Children's Fund, which provides aid and assistance to widows, widowers and dependents of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Tickets are $50, which includes appetizers, dinner, drinks, music and raffles. Sponsorship opportunities are available. To help sponsor the program, or for more information, contact Jennifer Lien at (516) 661-7549 or Annmarie Portaro at (631) 804-8303, or visit www.nyheroesprogram.com.

The NY Heroes Program offers rebates and discounts on a variety of services to Long Island's local heroes: military personnel, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, rescue personnel, veterans, law enforcement personnel, teachers, doctors and nurses. They can enroll in the program online and free of charge. Once they are enrolled, they will receive a card that will allow them to receive discounts on purchases and services from participating companies.
