Brentwood Tragedy: Man Arrested for Murder After Fatal Shooting on Charter Oaks Ave, Victim Pronounced Dead at Hospital

Suffolk County Police last night arrested a man after he shot and killed another man in Brentwood.
 
Third Precinct officers responded to a call reporting a man shot in front of 178 Charter Oaks Ave., at 6p.m. Upon arrival, officers located the victim.
 
Joshua E. Jasmin, 30, was transported via Brentwood Legion Ambulance to South Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
 
Following an investigation, Romeo Campbell, 23, was arrested and charged with Murder 2nd Degree. He is being held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 31.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
