There's no need to drive far in order to have a great Labor Day weekend - there's plenty of family fun, things to see and do, and exciting events to attend in Nassau and Suffolk throughout the long weekend. Labor Day is a Federal Holiday observed on the first Monday in September that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and athletic events. For kids of all ages, Labor Day often feels like a last hurrah, as we wave goodbye to the warmer months, and welcome the cooldown that comes with the Autumn months. Let's hope that Mother Nature cooperates so that these fantastic events can be enjoyed by all - thankfully, it looks like for most of the weekend, she will be.
