Manhattan Man Arrested in Jericho for Attempted Burglary and Mask Transparency Act Violation

The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Manhattan man for Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree and Nassau County Local Law 1-2024 Title 90-Mask Transparency Act that occurred on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 7:49 pm in Jericho.
 
According to detectives, a female complainant at a S Marginal Road residence, contacted police after viewing an unknown subject wearing a black ski mask and glasses covering his face, on her home surveillance camera. The homeowner observed the subject enter her rear yard and attempt to enter the residence through the rear door. She confronted the subject who then fled the scene eastbound on S Marginal Road prior to police arrival.
 
Responding officers were able to locate the subject a short distance away and Defendant David Li, 27, was placed into custody without incident.
 
Subsequent to the investigation, the defendant was found to be in possession of what appeared to be burglar tools.
 
Defendant David Li is charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools and Nassau County Local Law 1-2024 Title 90-Mask Transparency Act. He will be arraigned on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
