Brooklyn Man Arrested in Massapequa for Forged License Plate on Transit Bus

The Seventh Squad reports the details of an arrest of a Brooklyn man for a Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 1:40 p.m. in Massapequa.
 
According to Detectives Seventh Precinct Officers performed a Vehicle and Traffic Law Stop of a 2001 MCI 102 Transit Bus that was traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway in the vicinity of East Chestnut Street.
 
During the investigation it was determined that the driver, Antoine Legrant, 46, was operating the bus with a forged Kentucky license plate that he had purchased for $150 from someone in Howard Beach, Queens.
 
Officers placed the defendant under arrest without further incident. The investigation is ongoing.
 
Defendant Legrant is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 2 nd degree and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He will be arraigned on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street Hempstead.
