Wind gusts may peak around 30-35 mph this afternoon and may persist into the early evening before weakening early tonight. Conditions during this time are expected to lead to blowing snow already on the ground. This can lead to quickly reduced visibilities on roadways. Any untreated surfaces may remain snow- covered and icy into this evening, leading to hazardous driving conditions. Leave plenty of space between you and other drivers and drive at reduced speeds.

Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Oyster Bay Cove Claims Life of 21-Year-Old Rider

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car on Berry Hill Road in Oyster Bay Cove, with no other injuries reported and the investigation ongoing.

The Homicide Squad reports the details of a Fatal Vehicular Accident that occurred on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 3:40 PM in Oyster Bay Cove.
 
According to detectives, a 2022 Honda motorcycle being operated by a 21-year-old male was traveling southbound on Berry Hill Road in the vicinity of Northern Boulevard.
 
The motorcycle entered the northbound lanes while still traveling southbound and collided with a 2023 Kia Forte being operated by a 62-year-old male. The 21-year-old suffered serious injuries and was pronounced at scene.
 
The driver of the Kia remained at scene. No other injuries were reported.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
