Tragic Twilight Collision Claims Life of Holbrook Pedestrian: Sixth Squad on the Hunt for Answers
Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Holbrook last night.
Thomas Heckman was walking westbound across Patchogue Holbrook Road, near Vacation Court, when he was struck by a southbound 2022 Volvo sedan at approximately 8:25 p.m.
Heckman, 66, of Holbrook, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was
pronounced dead. The driver of the Volvo, Steven Rodriguez, 58, of Lindenhurst, was not injured.
The Volvo was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
