At a Brookhaven Town Planning Board meeting on September 12th, a representative for Petco in Rocky Point proposed a facade change to the existing building to add an additional entryway for a veterinary center they are building in the store.

The pet supply store will add the 1600 square-foot veterinary center to existing space within their store.

The Petco is in the same shopping center as Kohl’s department store and Michaels.

In a letter, The Rocky Point Civic Association lent its support to the application and plans.

The representative did not say how many veterinarians would be at the location. There will be no boarding or overnight care at the location.

Petco is also looking to add signage to the exterior of the building. No special permits or variances are sought for this addition.
