Islandia, NY; September 21, 2011 - In honor of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Long Island's Community Banksm, Gold Coast Bank, is designating 100 percent of its ATM withdrawal and query transaction fees to benefit Long Island's Beauty for a Cure, an organization dedicated to supporting Long Island not-for-profit breast cancer charities. While Gold Coast Bank first debuted its "Pay It Forward For Breast Cancer" program last year at its Huntington branch, it is expanding the initiative this year to all three of its branches, which will run from October 1, 2011 to October 31, 2011 at Gold Coast Bank's Islandia, Huntington and Setauket locations.

"Gold Coast Bank takes its community commitment very seriously and is always looking for ways to support the individuals we serve whenever and wherever we can," says Gold Coast Bank President Joseph Perri. "By rolling out our 'Pay It Forward' ATM fundraiser for breast cancer, we are able to participate in not only raising breast cancer awareness but also raising funds that can be instrumental in making a difference among the dedicated charities that work so hard in the fight against breast cancer. It is important that we all help in whatever ways we can to join in this fight."

By selecting Beauty for a Cure as this year's beneficiary, Gold Coast Bank is able to extend its support to several local breast cancer charities affiliated with the organization: Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition, Lean On Me Breast Cancer Network, Inc., West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc., and Long Beach Breast Cancer Coalition. Each of these non-profit organizations distributes their funds throughout the Long Island community to help with medical counseling, research and development, as well support areas of prevention, education, wellness counseling and legislation advocacy for achieving increased funding.
"It is a blessing to see a Long Island based bank like Gold Coast Bank opting to pay it forward instead of choosing to absorb fees for its own personal gain and interest," says Beauty for a Cure Founder Christina Amato-Smith. "Their 'Pay It Forward For Breast Cancer' initiative is sure to assist us in our continued efforts in fighting breast cancer on Long Island. We are grateful for their support."
