Meet Blacky & Bandit. These two pooches have been through a lot and now it’s time for them to find a forever home. In July, Blacky and Bandit were seized, removed from their current living situation, and brought to Last Hope Animal Rescue. Blacky is the gorgeous black Lab mix with a cute curved tail. Bandit is a large Shepherd mix with floppy ears. He's like a big teddy bear and would you believe he even hugged the Brookhaven shelter volunteers who delivered him to Last Hope! For more information on adopting Blacky or Bandit, check out Last Hope’s Animal Rescues website
And right next door at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, you can meet another tall dark and handsome gentleman named Moca. This 4 year old retriever mix is described as being wonderful with people and truly a good dog. Moca makes a great roommate as in his former life he lived with a cat and even a rat! Moca does not like, however, other male dogs, and was surrendered because Moca and the other male dog going into a tiff. Please note that Moca was not neutered at the time of the “disagreement” with the other male dog, who most likely also was not neutered. Moca is a calm and gentle boy who would do best in a home teens and up. Moca’s previous owners said he is housetrained, and knows the commands “sit”, “come”, “no” and “stop”. Moca enjoys playing with toys, doing agility, running in the yard, car rides and fetch! What more exactly do you want in a canine companion? For more information about Moca, check out TOH Animal Shelter’s website
Copper is an 8 month old male white/brown hound mix. He is fun, friendly and loves everyone (well ... except cats). He is great with kids and would make an excellent new family member! Just look at him snuggle!! (see adoption info below)
