Free Alzheimer’s and Dementia Educational Seminars

The Alzheimer's Association Long Island Chapter will be holding a series of free educational seminars at Town of Hempstead senior centers.

The Alzheimer's Association Long Island Chapter will be holding a series of one-hour seminars to raise awareness of dementia and provide education and support to the community. The seminars will focus on a variety of topics related to Alzheimer’s and dementia, conditions that impact memory and, according to the Alzheimer's Association, affect 55 million people worldwide.

 

The seminars will take place at Town of Hempstead Senior Centers and are free and open to the public.  

 

Thursday, October 6, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Franklin Square Senior Center

Uniondale-Merrick Senior Center

Understanding Alzeheimer’s and Dementia. Learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s and the difference between dementia and Alzheimer’s. 

 

Friday, December 2, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Levittown Senior Center

555 N. Newbridge Road, Levittown

10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s. Learn about the 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others.
