5 Fire Departments Fight House Fire in Hempstead, Woman Dies While Others Jump from Second Story

The Homicide Squad and Arson Bomb Squad report the details of a residential house fire that occurred on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 6:30 am in Hempstead.
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a house fire located at 103 Front Street. Upon arrival, Officers observed the house to be fully engulfed in flames due to a fire that started in a second-floor bedroom.
 
The Hempstead Fire Department along with South Hempstead, West Hempstead, Uniondale and Roosevelt Fire Departments responded and extinguished the flames.
 
A female victim was pronounced on scene. A male victim was transported to a local area hospital after receiving burns to his face, hands and arms. Another male victim was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries to his ankles from jumping out of a second story window.
 
All three victims were occupants of 103 Front Street.
 
The Nassau County Fire Marshall was on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
