Fifth Squad arrests two men in Valley Stream after locating a stolen vehicle, leading to charges of forged documents, vehicle theft, and possession of narcotics.

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for an incident that occurred at 8:00 p.m. on October 6, 2023 in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, fifth precinct officers were on routine patrol at Green Acres Mall when they located a parked, unoccupied, stolen vehicle from New Jersey. The officers waited for the occupants to enter the vehicle and performed a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop. The driver of the vehicle, Kenneth A. Nelson, 38, of 265 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre was found to be in possession of a forged New York State drivers license.
 
His license was also found to be suspended and he had an active NYPD warrant. The passenger, Eric Nelson, 34, of 7 Canal Road, Massapequa was found to have an active warrant out of Freeport for Grand Larceny. He also took responsibility for two hypodermic needles, believed to contain heroin, that were located when officers searched the stolen vehicle.
 
Defendant Kenneth A. Nelson is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3 rd degree, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree. He was arraigned on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Eric Nelson is charged with Unauthorized Use if a Vehicle 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, 7th degree. He was issued an appearance ticket and released to the custody of Freeport Police Department detectives for arrest processing.
