AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Police apprehend suspects in stolen vehicle after a high-speed chase in Upper Brookville, discovering a cache of drugs in their possession

The Muttontown and Upper Brookville Police Department reports the arrest of two individuals for an incident that occurred on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 2:58 p.m. in Upper Brookville.
 
According to Detectives, Officers received a stationary license plate reader notification for a stolen vehicle, a white 2020 Mazda CX5, traveling eastbound on Northern Boulevard. The vehicle was located on Pine Hollow Road in East Norwich; a vehicle stop was initiated at Whitney Avenue.
 
As Officers approached the vehicle, the female operator, Defendant Molly Louise Dutrow, 29, of 4 Ferncote Lane in Glen Head, drove the vehicle over a curb in order to flee from Officers.  Officers followed the vehicle and initiated another vehicle stop on Pine Hollow Road in the vicinity of Pine Drive in Oyster Bay. As Officers approached the vehicle on foot, Defendant Dutrow, again, attempted to flee by driving the vehicle into oncoming traffic. The vehicle abruptly accelerated toward one of the Officers, at which time the Officer fired one round from his service weapon, striking the driver side of the vehicle. Defendant Dutrow stopped the vehicle and both she and the passenger, Defendant Randall Hutchinson, 25, of 22 Laurel Cove Road in Oyster Bay Cove, were placed into custody without further incident. Officers recovered drugs believed to be cocaine, fentanyl, suboxone, crack, alprazolam, heroin and buprenorphine naloxone, along with a scale and drug paraphernalia.
 
Defendant Dutrow is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree and Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree.
 
Defendant Hutchinson is charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, and six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree. Both Defendants were arraigned on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
