A heartbreaking incident unfolded on the morning of Thursday, October 19, 2023, as a fatal vehicular accident took place at approximately 10:10 AM in Wantagh, claiming the life of a 32-year-old male employee. The tragedy occurred at the Merrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge service center, located at 3588 Sunrise Highway.
Reports from the Homicide Squad indicate that the unfortunate event transpired when a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by a 20-year-old male colleague, struck the victim while backing up. Following the incident, Nassau County Police Ambulance promptly transported the injured employee to a nearby medical facility for immediate attention. Despite the quick response, hospital physicians pronounced the victim deceased shortly after arrival.
