Tragedy Strikes in West Hempstead: Homicide Squad Probes Fatal Collision as Elderly Pedestrian Loses Life
The Homicide Squad is investigating a Fatal Vehicular Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 6:47 a.m. in West Hempstead.
According to Detectives, a female pedestrian was crossing Cornwell Avenue at the intersection of Wildwood Road when she was struck by a 2019 Hyundai SUV traveling eastbound on Cornwell Avenue operated by a 19-year-old male. The driver remained at scene. The elderly female was pronounced at scene by Police Medics. The investigation is ongoing.
